Samsung Galaxy Alpha Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update to Roll Out to 8 Models in April 2016

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is set to receive the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow software in April 2016. Marshmallow is just waiting for approval for the device before it commences the roll out to eight of its models.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow build is just waiting around the corner to be released to Samsung Galaxy Alpha models as the second quarter next year opens. Per leaked table listing for the Marshmallow plans of Samsung, Galaxy Alpha is now on the waiting list for the upgrade which technically means it is on the Initial Testing phase.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha confirmed for the rollout has model number SM-G850Y. Other devices that will be getting the upgrade have the following model number with corresponding software version:

According to a report from a tech site, mode devices will receive be revealed in the Phase 3 of the Marshmallow plans laid out by Samsung. As of now, the Phase 1 revealed devices Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S5. Phase 2 included Galaxy A8, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A3, Galaxy E7 and Galaxy E5.

Previously, the device was already announced to get Marshmallow in the second quarter of 2016. The April 2016 roll out is certain only for now to unlocked and retail versions. Locked versions might come on a later date as normally would for mobile carriers.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow software features Doze Mode, better app permissions, smarter Google Now with Now on Tap, improved app drawer and app links, more fluid animations, and the list goes on.
