Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been launched officially and following Nexus devices, Sony Xperia Z5, Z4 and Z3 series under Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile are lucky ones to receive the update next. The latest Android upgrade is expected to reach these units before 2015 ends.

According to Gospel Herald, the rollout of Marshmallow for Xperia devices is scheduled to begin before the end of the year. As for the roll out is concerned, the rule is that the newest Android devices are the first to obtain the upgrade. With this, it will be the company's flagship Xperia Z5, as well as its variations of the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium that will have access to the OS update which might arrive in the predicted date.

In addition, it seems that Sony has started the build  the Marshmallow update for the Z5 series last October. This means that Z5 users could get the update in November and December but its release date would also be dependent on the carrier just like Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile in U.S.

Christian Today stated other handsets that would definitely receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Xperia M5, M4 Aqua, C4, C5 Ultra and Z2 Tablet are also eligible for the update. It is also expected that the Sony Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Google Play Edition will soon obtain the newest operating system by the biggest search engine company.

Furthermore, Tampa Bay Review stated the status of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow roll out. As of the moment, Google has reached 50% Marshmallow milestone. The company is planning to cover 75% of Android based handsets to acquire the Marshmallow update by the end of 2015. This then suggests that the new OS might indeed hit the Sony Xperia series soon.

With the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update rolling out soon to Sony Xperia Z5, Z4 and Z3 variants, the other above mentioned devices might follow as early as Q1 next year. Temporarily, users of these handsets will have to wait for further announcements from Google and Sony.
