Samsung Galaxy S6 Active units are confirmed for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade and the device is now ready for the testing stage after development finishes off later this month. Marshmallow will come in with major refinements.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is slated to begin testing to Samsung Galaxy S6 Active in November if development will be pronounced successful. The device has already been confirmed getting the software upgrade in the first quarter of 2016. According to previous reports, it will most likely come in January.

Testing stage will follow wherein Galaxy S6 Active will go through AT&T's certification process. In this stage, assessment of Marshmallow's performance will also be evaluated. This is expected to begin in November. Galaxy S6 Active is under AT&T's exclusive distribution.

Meanwhile, official release will kick off after testing succeeds. As per Samsung's official list, Android 6.0 will come in January 2016. However, for units under a carrier, release date will vary according to its discretion.

Galaxy S6 Active units on AT&T has model number SM-G890A. All units are still running on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with major updates in TouchWiz user interface, security, web experience, apps permissions, app drawer, notification board, battery life and system apps and bug patches.

Google has also included Intelligent Prediction Engine to observe mostly used activities and create a tray of app shortcuts for immediate access to them.

With the more advanced Google Now feature, the app will read screen information and recommend information that users might be able to use-an restaurants, upcoming event, food guides, sorts of reviews, map location, celebrity news, tech advancements, how-tos, and so many more.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has a 5.1-inch screen made of Super AMOLED display, 3 GB of RAM, 3500 mAh and 16 MP main camera. Galaxy S6 Active units on AT&T cost from US 580 to 860 dollars depending on the contract.
