Xiaomi is bound to unveil another smartphone next year, the Xiaomi Mi5. This device is speculated to be armored with Qualcomm's upcoming chipset, Snapdragon 820 and a custom-made fingerprint scanner.

According to Realty Today added that the decision made by the Chinese tech giant to select the Snapdragon 820 chipset over the Snapdragon 810 is basically to escape the overheating problems of the smartphones. This was the same reason why Samsung, a South-Korea samrtphone manufacturer, has also decided to pass up the Snapdragon 810 to avoid the common problem in their devices.

Latinos Post cited other predicted features and specifications of the Xiaomi Mi5. The device is speculated to be sporting the Xiaomi's custom-made fingerprint recognition technology. According to an insider, the company will not use the Qualcomm's Sense ID Ultrasound sensor, despite the rumored chipset's capability to support the said feature.

It will feature a 5.3-inch Quad HD display with a 1440x2560 screen resolution and 554ppi pixel density. The Mi5 is also believe to have a 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB or 64 GB built-in storage models with no support for external memory expansion.

As for its camera, it might be armored with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash and 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and video chats. Xiaomi Mi5 will be powered by a 3,030 mAh capacity battery and support USB Type-C port.

As noted by Ecumenical News, it looks like there is a slight delay for the production of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820. The release date of the chipset will be set much later timeframe; with this, there is a big chance that Xiaomi will be releasing the Mi5 on 2016.

If it is true that Xiaomi will be using the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 and will incorporate a custom-made fingerprint scanner to its newest flagship, it would definitely be a great improvement from its previous model. But until the company gives the official word, the smartphone enthusiasts will have to rely on this rumors and predictions.
