CEO for Oracle Corp Larry Ellison and Salesforce.com chief executive Marc Benioff publicly announced the end their companies' bitter feud in Silicon Valley. This was stated on Thursday as the two software moguls jumped into a major partnership. The alliance aimed at selling more internet based software.

Ellison and Benioff, who were harsh critics of each other's businesses, said in a conference call that they will outline a plan to combine their firms in the fast growing area of cloud computing.

Oracle Corp is the No.3 software maker in the world. Oracle has fallen behind Salesforce.com and other players who are emerging in the industry. Ellison had been slow to tap into the fast growing trend of Web-based software or cloud computing.

The alliance of the two moguls is the latest example of how technology partnership can make a massive shift as businesses evolve. The alliance of the two will get Oracle to integrate some of its cloud based programs with Salesforce.com's products. The latter is also expected to expand its own use of Oracle products and standardizing it with its own offerings.
