A high profile sex discrimination lawsuit was filed in Silicon Valley that moved closer to trial after rulings set by a panel of justices. The said ruling was for venture capital firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers could not take arbitrary measures for its former partnery's claims.

Ellen Pao, a former partner in Silicon Valley's most talked about venture firms, alleged harassment, retaliation and discrimination in the company. It has became a widely talked about issue that was denied by the company. Pao alleged sexual advances and sexist behavior that had transpired in the firm.

The firm argued that the lawsuit filed by Pao in May 2012 should be heard privately. This was after Pao signed operating agreements with arbitration clauses for the funds she has worked in.

Ellen Pao's lawyer argued that the arbitration clause did not apply as she was suing Kleiner itself and not its funds. On Wednesday, a panel of justices at the California Court of Appeal in San Francisco heed to Pao's argument keeping the case in public eye.
