Markit Group Interviews Banks for IPO

Markit Group, a financial information services company moved forward with an initial public offering (IPO). The company hired Goldman Sachs as the lead coordinator of the deal. This was according to a statement released by four people who were familiar with the deal said on Tuesday.

Sources added that the London-based firm is seeking to raise more than US$1 billion in a US listing. Markit Group is in the process of interviewing banks to complete its underwriting syndicate.

One of the sources said that a registration statement for the deal could be filed within the fourth quarter of 2013. However, the timing is not yet set and could change depending on market conditions.

Sources spoke in the condition of anonymity as the process was not yet public. Goldman Sachs refused to give comment for the said deal.

On the other hand, a Markit spokesperson said that the company has not reached any decision to push through public listing.
