Travel search engine Wego.com raises $17 million

Travel serch engine Wego.com ha raised a total of $17 million in Series C funding. Wego.com is a popular search website in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific region. The lead investors in the round were Crescent Point, Victoria Capital and previous shareholder Tiger Global. Paul Bassat from Victoria Capital has joined the board of directors of Wego.com as part of the investment.

Wego.com pioneered the metasearch for travel in the regions of Asia and the Pacific. The company, headquartered in Singapore, is doing business in over 52 countries in 30 languages. A large portion of its user base in in Indonesia, India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, which have markets that are considered to be fast developing.

The search engine posts a total of $10 million worth of potential bookings daily for their travel partners.

Ross Veitch and Craig Hewett, co-founders of Wego.com said that they are "delighted to welcome Crescent Point and Victoria Capital as new investors. We also wish to thank Tiger Global for being great partners and for their renewed support."
