The official 'Divergent: Allegiant' trailer has just been released and it takes audiences beyond the wall of dystopian Chicago. The third installation follows the story of Beatrice Prior, Tobias Eaton and the rest of their comrades as they journey past the limits set by the leaders of their faction-based society.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the brand new teaser trailer offers audiences a preview of what to expect for the concluding film in the series adapted from the young adult novels of author Veronica Roth. It was reported that the third book will be split into two back-to-back cinematic releases, with the first part entitled 'Allegiant' and the second part entitled 'Ascendant'. Shailene Woodley and Theo James will reprise their roles as Beatrice 'Tris' Prior and Tobias 'Four' Eaton respectively.

Another article by the Chicago Tribune reported that the trailer recaps several scenes from its predecessors - beginning with Tris' introduction to the different factions represented by specific values namely Candor (Honesty), Erudite (Intelligence), Dauntless (Bravery), Abnegation (Selflessness) and Amity (Peace). She and Four are later revealed as Divergents - "dangerous" individuals possessing equal aptitudes for all factions yet belonging to none.

Jeff Daniels will play the newest antagonist, David, and he too is introduced in the last part of the trailer where he tells Tris to help him save the world. Although 'Divergent: Allegiant' is also set in Chicago, the film was not shot there. Chicago's film office director Rich Moskal said that there have been no plans as of the present whether part 2 will be shot there at all.

Robert Schwentke will be helming both parts of the third movie, according to Coming Soon. He is best known for his previous work on 'Flightplan', 'The Time Traveler's Wife', and 'R.I.P.D'. Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer and Oscar-nominee Naomi Watts will be returning to join Woodley and James in the all-star ensemble.

'Divergent: Allegiant' will be based on Roth's third novel in the best-selling trilogy that sold over 34 million copies globally. The science-fiction adventure novels were received positively by critics but the third and final book has been criticized for its disheartening ending. The first part in the back-to-back installation is scheduled to be released on March 18, 2016.
