The Allied Commanders mode of StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void is now called 'co-op missions' to remove the confusion between Archon mode and the said feature that was originally announced at Gamescom 2015.

StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void's Lead Designer Jason Huck told PCGamesN in an interview on the reason behind the renaming of the mode and that is because "there was confusion there between Archon mode and it and which was was which. Plus we want people to understand what that mode really is," he said. In addition, players unfamiliar with StarCraft video game can easily get confused between the two modes.

Allied Commanders mode now renamed Co-op Missions will allow gamers to play as one of three StarCraft characters and ally with a second gamer to complete game objectives. There are three commanders have been revealed namely, Jim Raynor, Kerrigan, and Artanis where each of them represents the game's factions, namely Terran, Zerg, and Protoss, respectively.

Each of these commanders has a unique style and powerful abilities including cooperative powers that can only be used in Allied Commanders or Co-op Missions mode. Hardcore fans can check out this latest trailer released by Blizzard showing their special abilities. [Watch Video]

The Archon Mode, on the other hand, will allow players the 1-vs-1 multiplayer experience in a team setting where both players share the control over a single base and they are working together to fight against a single opponent.

Tasks that are usually done by a single gamer will now become a shared responsibility. These include building a base, building and controlling armies, managing resources, and scouting enemies. More details on the Archon Mode can found at the game's official website.

StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void is officially scheduled to be released on November 10 for PC. It comes in Standard Edition for $39.99, Digital Deluxe Edition for $59.99, and Retail-exclusive Collector's Edition for $79.99.
