Cheung Kong Forms Joint Venture to Acquire Dutch Firm for US$1.2 billion

Cheung Kong Holdings Ltd is a property group based in Hong Kong. This is controlled by the wealthiest man in Asia, Li Ka-shing. He stated that the company will undergo a joint venture to acquire RAV Water Treatment I B V. RAV is a Dutch waste processing firm and is offered at a price of US$1.26 billion.

There are also other joint venture partners that will undergo said deal. These include Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Ltd., Power Assets Holdings Ltd. and Li Ka Shing Foundation Ltd. This was said by Cheung Kong in a statement.

The venture is said to aid the country's serious environmental problems. It will also benefit the country as it combats air pollution stated last Friday. China is getting more serious about tackling the glut of aluminum production capacity. This was according to a source which told Reuters. That is why the venture between Cheung Kong Holdings Ltd. and RAV Water Treatment I B V is something to watch out for.
