Tom Hiddleston will come back as Loki for 'Thor: Ragnarok'. Asked about what's next for Loki, Hiddleston maintained the mystery of his character's role in the Ragnarok. Whether he will be a heartless villain, or a sympathetic baddie, Loki will have tricks up his sleeves to survive the Ragnarok.

According to Coming Soon, Loki was originally blatantly evil in the original Jack Kirby comics, but Hiddleston's portrayal gave him dimension by pointing out the sensitivity of the character. Question is, if Loki will go all-out ballistic evil now that his mother is dead and Odin usurped/contained, or if he will still be the multi-layered supervillain in 'Thor: Ragnarok'. Hiddleston said he "won't be able to help it", referring to playing the character with his dimensions.

However, the kind of Loki that will be present in 'Thor: Ragnarok' is still unknown. The 34-year-old British actor commented that Loki is just so "interesting." In a discussion with Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, they have mentioned that the brothers-enemies they play have evolved are still "cooking up" the way Loki emerges with everything he experienced starting from the first Thor movie 5 years ago.

As reported by Wired, Hiddleston's comments on being unaware of how Loki fits into the ever expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe has led to rumors that he might not be part of the 'Thor: Ragnarok'. However, Loki has been the constant supervillain in the MCU, with all other superbaddies so far "disposable."

Being the only supervillain that has been developing (except for Thanos) and a pillar of the Thor franchise, this rumor inexplicable. With the cliffhanger at the ending of 'Thor: The Dark World' revealing Loki's trickery of Thor and Odin to usurp the throne, compounded by Thor's vision of Heimdall's warning in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', it is quite evident that they are building up to Loki wreaking havoc in Asgard.

According to Marvel, the 'Thor: Ragnarok' may follow the comics which shows the Avengers' mightiest hero Thor, facing the beginning of the end of Asgard. In the comics, Odin is dead, and Thor leads the campaign against the impending apocalypse. Thor enlists the help of Captain America and Iron Man but them working together are not enough to stave off the imminent doom.

Thor will seek Loki for answers and whatever Loki has up in his sleeves will change everything Thor knows about Ragnarok and the events that will unfold. As always, Loki will be a game changer in this storyline, and it will be nearly impossible to exclude Hiddleston's character in the upcoming plot of 'Thor: Ragnarok'.

'Thor: Ragnarok' follows the events of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and 'Captain America: Civil War'. While Loki's role is largely unknown, Tom Hiddleston is sure to be in the movie given that the actor has 3 more films left in his 6-film Marvel contract and Loki can possibly be in the 'Avengers: Infinity War' movies as well.  'Thor: Ragnarok' is slated to be released on November 3, 2017.
