Ever since the announcement and subsequent production of 'The Huntsman', the film has received  doubtful reception. However, the prequel boasts of a formidable cast in terms of popularity and acting prowess that, if supported by a decent story, can propel the movie to an unexpected success.

According to Movie Pilot, 'The Huntsman' is an origin idea that doesn't appeal to many people. However, the movie has no shortage of star power. Starting with Charlize Theron, the movie will feature her again as the Evil Queen. Theron's reprisal of Queen Ravenna follows her recent massively successful Mad Max: Fury Road, solidifying her position as a Hollywood A-lister even more.

Theron is joined by the brilliant Emily Blunt, as "Ravenna's mysterious silver-haired companion." Blunt is a topnotch actress with award winning movies under her belt. According to The Daily Beast UK, Blunt has a line up of other intriguing movies aside from 'The Huntsman', such as 'Sicario' and 'The Girl on the Train.' Blunt and Theron has proved time and agaun that they know how impart "pure brute force of talent" that drives films to success.

Joining them also is Jessica Chastain, who's acting history is not to be trifled with. With various nominations and wins, 'Interstellar' star Chastain is a formidable addition to 'The Huntsman', although her character remains a mystery. According to Entertainment Online, the actress has been doing fight scenes with Chris Hemsworth wearing 4-inch platform shoes, hinting that she accompanies him to his journey to find a magic mirror.

Last but not the least is the titular character played by Chris Hemsworth. Hugely popular as the God of Thunder Thor, Hemsworth will surely bring in legions of fans to movie theaters for 'The Huntsman'. Hopefully, 'The Huntsman' will bring more depth for the fantastic actor to explore. Many believe that with such a stellar cast, the only thing they need is a good script to work with.

The first movie, Snow White and 'The Huntsman', featuring 'Twilight' star Kristen Stewart was a hit, and so a sequel was immediately in talks. However, after the cheating affair between Stewart and director Rupert Sanders, both were not asked to return for the next installment. Undoubtedly, losing the immensely Stewart meant Universal Studios also lost a very huge chunk of its financial success driving force.

The decision also meant that a sequel that actually continues where the first movie left off can't be pushed through, hence the prequel. No Stewart, no Snow White. However with the addition of Blunt and Chastain to Theron and Hemsworth, Universal seems to be on the right track of recovery. 'The Huntsman' premieres on 22 April 2016.
