Fans of the CBS police procedural should fasten their seatbelts for the upcoming season opener of "NCIS" season 13 titled, "Stop the Bleeding."Showrunner Gary Glasberg hinted that it will be an emotional premiere for every character following the incident in Iraq last season that left Leroy Gibbs in a critical condition.

In "NCIS" season 13 episode 1, the news about Gibbs' situation will reach his team and will leave them dumbfounded. The season opener will pick up right where season 12 finale ended, which means the episode will mainly focus on Gibbs and how Dr. Taft, played by guest star Jon Cryer, will try to save the NCIS leader in a Navy hospital ship.

Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Gary Glasberg revealed that the Iraq incident will become a traumatic experience for Mark Harmon's character adding, "Really, the whole first half of the [premiere] is this emotional roller coaster ride, of Gibbs' surgery."

Michael Weatherly, Tony DiNozzo in the series, supported Glasberg's statement when he told FOX411 about that the new season will be "a year of great turbulence and great drama." Weatherly also hinted what the viewers can expect in "NCIS" season 13.

"I know there's some real arcing storylines. You have the return of a lot of the guest stars that are part of the 'NCIS' family, but there's also a new type of storytelling that [executive producer] Gary Glasberg is expanding on. I think it's going to culminate in a very interesting season 13," the actor revealed.

However, recent reports about the CBS hit police procedural also include a sneak peak that alarmed the fans of the series. The teaser sees Gibbs walking into the light while holding Kelly's hand after seeing photos of his past, Buddy TV reported.

While Gibbs fight his way to survival, his team will still have to do their job despite the anxiety. Tony and Joanna will be on their way to Shanghai to hunt down The Calling, the terrorist group that recruited the young boy who shot Gibbs in the market.

All the exciting things will unfold as "NCIS" season 13 return in just a few days. It will be an emotional ride for everyone as Gibbs fights for his life while his team hunts down The Calling.
