GreenIQ partners with AT&T to create the first smart garden device with 3G to provide customers with more connectivity to easily manage their lawns and gardens. Currently, the iOS GreenIQ app is now available while the Android version is scheduled for release later this year.

The Internet of Things startup company GreenIQ is based in Israel. It is famous for producing the Smart Garden Hub which was announced earlier this year. According to Digital Trends, the Smart Garden Hub was designed to lessen wastage in outdoor water use by 50% and revolutionize gardening by providing easier control of irrigation systems with less work.

Smart Garden Hub was first launched at the 2015 Consumer Electronics show. It can be remotely controlled by using the GreenIQ app for both iOS and Android. The device can be used to adjust lighting and irrigation settings.

Digital Journal reports that the IoT startup worked together exclusively with network carrier AT&T to bring the 3G feature to the Smart Garden Hub. Senior vice president Chris Penrose of AT&T talked about their company and Green IQ'S shared vision. He says that both companies want customers to "lead a more connected life" by bringing more connectivity indoors and outdoors through the 3G-powered Smart Garden Hub.

The new Smart Garden Hub is integrated with a flow meter to enable volumetric watering and scheduling of irrigation. It can more accurately monitor water expenditure and detect system faults like leakages and pipeline damages. The device also downloads data online to monitor present weather conditions and adjust irrigation settings as needed.

GreenIQ and AT&T's innovation enables more efficient task handling especially for areas with wider coverage such as school campuses and sports fields. Smart Garden Hub with 3G provides users with greater control of their gardens and lawns. Aside from that, its ability to measure water by volume rather than time gives a more accurate water consumption reading, allowing for more water savings.

Managing multiple devices and water systems at any time with the 3G-powered Smart Garden Hub is possible thanks to the new GreenIQ app. As of today, only the iOS version of the app is available.

Business Wire reported that the California Israel Chamber of Commerce ( CICC) listed GreenIQ among the Israeli start-ups to present at the CiConnect 2015 in Silicon Valley, California on October 21, 2015. It is possible that the 3G-powered Smart Garden Hub innovation will be presented at the event.

GreenIQ users can expect the Android version of the app to be rolled out before the year ends. The new 3G Smart Garden Hub hardware is also expected to hit irrigation service and property management companies later this year.
