T-Mobile to Update Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, & Galaxy Tab S with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

T-Mobile is slated to release the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software version to Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge & Galaxy Tab S before the Marshmallow update hits mobile phones later this month. The update will come with enhancements and security patches.

T-Mobile units of Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge & Galaxy Tab S are set to receive the final Lollipop update over the air through a good Wi-Fi connection. When prompted for the download, make sure the battery is charged up to at least 50 percent before proceeding to the download. Storage should have an extra memory space depending on the download's file size.

To check the software version of the phone, just go to Home > Settings > About phone.

The update shall come in stages through a notification from Google. If Google has not released the latest Android Lollipop version yet, here's a guide for manual download of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

1.      Go to Settings from app tray or pull down menu.

2.      Select More.

3.      Select About Device.

4.      Select Software Update.

5.      Follow onscreen instructions.

  • Material Design. Enjoy a more colorful and fresh new look and feel. Lollipop brings in more fluid animations along with improved apps and personalization options like colors, widgets and themes.

  • Device syncing. Apps, song, photos and even recent searches from one Android device can be accessed fully across all other Android devices.
