After the restructuring announcement made by Google earlier this month to introduce Alphabet, Google today unveils their new logo to the world.

Still keeping their old word mark type of logo, Google's new logo feature a softer color tone and is made of sans-serif typeface.

For the new logo, Google's main letter, the letter "g" will be used as capital "G" from now on with four main colour on it. This letter will appear on most of Google apps and platform such as the microphone, Google+ and Gmail. Soon all other properties by Google such as the map and chrome will feature the new design.

The wood mark design was said to be inspired by their main company, Alphabet, which feature a simple and unfussy wood mark logo too.

Main concern that Google designers have when designing this logo is to make sure that the logo will looks good on all size of screen as reported by The Verge.

The simpler logo which uses the most efficient font will ensure that the logo still appeared well on smaller scale and can be load even with slow internet connection.

The team said that the size of the wood mark was reduced from 14,000 bytes to only 305 bytes. The team also said that this will not be the last time they will change the design as the company slowly grow.

The company said in their blogpost that the changes is a way for them to acknowledge how much Google has changed and how much technology around the platform, apps and devices where Google is operating has changed. Google used to be a site where people visit on their desktop back then but now everything has changed.

To introduce this new design, Google had created a visual story in GIF form around their logo on their main page displaying how Google has transformed over the year. Internet user can head to the Google main page or watch the whole transformation video on the company's blog, to get a closer look on the changes.

This is the first major changes to the logo that the 17-year old company ever made after restructuring and the biggest redesign since 1999 reported The Guardian. According to a report by CNBC, the company had made six small changes over the years from colors, space between each letter, and flattened 3D letter.

The new design had also create a buzz among social media users whom mostly express their approval of the new design.
