More than $1 billion was offered by DirecTV and two other bidders. This was to buy a piece of Hulu according to a reliable bidding source. The bid was said to be done last Friday and has raised a lot of opportunities for Walt Disney Co and News Corp to sell service that they fail selling in 2011.

Sources reported that seven buyouts were fielded last week. The advice was made by Guggenheim Partners to Hulu board members. The entire process was made private making sources remain in anonymity. In the next two or three weeks, the number of buyout offers were said to whittle down.

On the other hand, the two other bidders that were left unnamed offered $1 billion for Hulu. This would be a great deal considering its huge number of subscribers. Hulu makes $700 million revenue for free ad-supported services and subscriptions. Once an acceptable price is offered, the chances of buyout from News Corp and Disney is going to increase. This will be a good sticking point from the previous offer made in 2011.
