Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version provides security and improvements to Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Samsung is on the process of updating its devices into the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version, specifically Samsung Galaxy Note 4. US Sprint is the first carrier to issue the firmware update with its subscribers while Poland is the first market to get the Android 5.1.1 update. The firmware version aims to provide security against virus along with the improvements to the device.

GSM Arena contains the download link in case Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users have not received the OTA for OS update. In here, users can manually install the Android 5.1.1 in their devices online.

Just in case users would like to manually do the firmware update in their phone, they can hit Settings on their phones, then go to About phone, next is Software updates, and lastly, Check for software updates.

Along with the security feature that the new firmware offers, Android Geeks cited the improved features of Android 5.1.1 version. These are improvements to notifications panel and quick settings, lock screen notifications, and Smart Lock.

Moreover, the new Lollipop version also offers Material Design, Android Runtime, Screen Pinning, multi-user support, new Recents menu, and dynamic status bar. The report also said that battery life is improved with the new software version. This is good news for users who would like their phones to stand all day long, especially when it is not available for the device to be charged.   

Talking about Poland as the first country to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update in Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Android Geeks mentioned that other countries should supposed to follow in getting the update.

Speaking of other Samsung models, NeuroGadget said that Galaxy Note 3 also received the Android 5.1.1 version lately, particularly in 4GB model. It is also reported the phone receives same features from the new OS version.

Smartphone manufacturers, carriers, and other countries are issuing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to provide security and improved features.
