Berry Plastics Beat the Compeition
WIth a customer list as long as the number of manufacturers in a supermarket, it is no wonder that Berry Plastics is amongst the leaders in the plastic packaging industry. It has customized packaging requirements for each specific customer, allowing for a unique packaging of high quality for each of the household names in its roster.
Berry Plastics was listed on the NYSE back in October 2012 but has been providing plastic packaging to its long list of clients since 1967. It has both plastic consumer packaging and engineered materials, with four different segments such as rigid open top, rigid closed top, engineered materials and flexible packaging.
Its revenue is spread equally among these four packaging segments, with US$1.2 billion, US$1.4 billion, US$1.4 billion and US$700 million for each of the indicated sources. This comes from a customer base where each client provides no more than 3% of overall revenue.
Its products are containers, bottles, prescription vials, drink cups, plates, bowls, spice containers, stretchfilms, liners and so much more. It has customized applications for medical industry requirements, anti-corrosion applications and other niche markets and industries.
