Android 6.0 Marshmallow Up for Samsung, Sony, LG, Motorola, HTC Devices, and More

Android 6.0 Marshmallow nears September's official over-the-air release and reports are ringing wild that several smartphones and tablets are in the queue to get treated with the latest Android mobile operating system. Which lucky devices are getting first the much-anticipated sweet Marshmallow treatment?

While on its third and final developer preview stage with Nexus devices, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is surely coming to topnotch brands like Samsung Galaxy, Sony Xperia, LG G, Motorola Moto, Google Android One, HTC One, Xiaomi, Asus Zenfone, Lenovo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi. However, which models and units will most likely get Marshmallow first? Here's a quick rundown.

Samsung Galaxy

Aside from Google's Nexus devices, Samsung is known to be one of the brands in the tech industry to debut Android updates. There is no surprise though if Samsung is the first to roll out Marshmallow this September.

Expected to have the update first are Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy A8. Midrange smartphones Galaxy A5 and Galaxy E series are also slated to have the update.

Sony Xperia

Sony is scrambling to update their devices to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop so it's no surprise that Marshmallow must be coming up the soonest too. Sony Xperia Z4, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition (GPE), Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra

LG G

Aside from LG-manufactured Nexus 5, the South Korean giant is slated to roll out Marshmallow to LG G4 and LG G3 devices.

HTC One

Confirmed by HTC's executive via Twitter earlier this month, HTC One M9 is surely a pioneer of Android 6.0. Other phones expected are One M9 Plus, One M8, One M7, One E9, and One E9 Plus. There is no certainty whether One Desire devices will get the update as soon as September.

Motorola Moto

Also a leader in Android updates, Motorola is slated for a Marshmallow release to Moto G 2014, Moto G 2013, Moto X Style/Pure Edition, Moto X Play, Moto X 2014, and Moto/Droid Turbo. However, according to reports the update shall be made available by December this year.
