US$4.75M Secured by Wochit in Series A Funding Round

Wochit, Inc secured US$4.75 million funding from its recently concluded Series A growth capital round. The round was participated in by Greycroft Partners, Redpoint Ventures and Cedar Fund.

Wochit is a steady source of latest news videos of web publishers. The company will be allotting the raised finances for the increase in the channels where they can reach their clientele and the introduction of new projects for the production, syndication and monetization of videos on any issue as news takes place. 

According to Dean Gilbert who is Redpoint's Venture Partner and YouTube's Senior Advisor, "Web publishers are seeking ways to distinguish themselves from competitors with rich and engaging content, and Wochit fulfills that need with its innovative model for video production and distribution. Wochit brings advantages in quality, flexibility, cost, scale and timeliness of video to open new revenue opportunities for publishers." 

The co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wochit, Dror Ginzberg said, "This financing positions Wochit to continue enhancing the work we do with our growing customer base, including white-label production, expanding ad monetization and more options for embedding Wochit's ever-fresh videos." Mr. Ginzberg further added, "As Wochit continues growing, we gain additional benefits from the expertise that Redpoint, Cedar and Greycroft bring as established supporters of entrepreneurial innovations in media."
