It was in 2013 when Apple launched a 4-inch screened iPhone and it was rumored, too that Apple will abandon the small screen and focus on the phablet phones moving forward. However, it was recently rumored that Apple will go back its roots and introduce another 4-inch screen iPhone since its last release, 3 years ago.

The latest update, according to Phone Arena, confirmed that Apple will release the iPhone 6c by the 2nd quarter of next year, that finally debunk the rumors that Apple abandoned the 4 inch phones, which solely responsible for putting Apple into its current success.

It is also reported that the upcoming iPhone 6c will be more affordable than the iPhone 6 series. With this news, it is expected, as early as now, that Apple will once again dominate the figures as well as the market come 2016.

The iPhone 6c was originally slated to release within this year but was pushed back due to the success of the phablet iPhones, Mac Rumors reported. In addition, the cancelation fueled the fire on the abandonment of the 4 inch screened iPhones.

Mac Rumors also cited that the upcoming iPhone 6c will use the same size and chipset as what the, to be released iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will use, the Samsung and TSMC 14/16nm chipset.

The14/16nm FinFET chipset is rumored to bring a better performance and lower power consumption, which will finally address the previous iPhone's issues.

To add, if Apple will release the iPhone 6c on the second quarter of 2016, it will go against Apple's usual early fall launches that the company has been following for the past 4 years.

In related news, the upcoming iPhone, aside from featuring a 4 inch QHD display with 1080p resolution, will also be equipped with Apple's Force Touch Technology and a 2GB RAM as well as a 12MP primary camera, as reported by Christian Post

However, up to this point, Apple has yet to confirm the rumors about the budget-friendly iPhone 6c and its release on the 2nd quarter of 2016.
