The latest whispers on the imminent Red Dead Redemption 2 release announcement are making the rounds online especially now that GamesCom 2015 is set to kick off this week. Rumors have it that Rockstar Games' next big title will be revealed during Microsoft's Press Conference on August 4th.

According to WCCF Tech, the game developer could possibly announce exciting details on the 5 year long awaited release of Red Dead Redemption sequel at the upcoming event after it skipped E3 this year.

The said site has also made mention of how top executive Phil Spencer is all hyped up with Xbox's attendance at the game show which is reported to be as evenly vital as its E3 2015 appearance and adding teases of announcement of some big games happening.

Spencer tweeted saying,

It's time to get excited for #xboxgamescom! Click https://t.co/Tvo3MqwHD1 for details. What are you most excited for? pic.twitter.com/wbggleO7qE

Since Sony decided not to participate at GamesCom this year and rather opted to go to Paris Games Week, it is quite obvious that Microsoft will be stealing the spotlight with the company's upcoming games like Crackdown, Scalebound, and Quantum Break all confirmed to be unveiled at the event with WCCF Tech adding that an announcement of Rockstar Games' most wanted Red Dead Redemption 2 could be the icing on the cake for Xbox.

There's always a small pint of possibility that the GTA 5 developer must have entered into a special partnership with Microsoft Corporation as to the game's content availability and other deals. For the uninformed, GamesCom 2015 will be held in Cologne, Germany starting August 5 up to August 9 of this week.

In earlier reports, Game Zone wrote that fans can recall when Take-Two Interactive's CEO Strauss Zelnick stated how the company perceives Red Dead as a franchise as huge as Grand Theft Auto from May last year. He said, "It seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat." The 'caveat' that Zelnick is referencing is the company's ability to release the games with 'incredible quality.'

This statement sounded to be pretty much consistent with what Rockstar Games said back in 2014 while teasing the release of a sequel following a massive success of the first title. "We don't always rush to make sequels but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually," the game developer confirmed.

The next installment to the Red Dead is claimed to get 'Red Dead Revolution' title and the game plot will follow the story of John Marston's son, Jack, as reported by Latinos PostRockstar San Diego has recently posted job listing which is intended for the development of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is rumored to get a October 2016 release date while some also predicts November this year. Although, it is quite safe to assume that a fall 2016 launching date sounds closer to the truth.
