'Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F' was released last April 18, 2015 in Japan and will soon debut the English-dubbed version in selected countries worldwide. It was first released in Japan and will soon be hitting theaters in U.S. and Canada from August 4-8 for a limited screening.

It is said that only the 2D version of the film will be shown despite having the 3D version aired in Japan. An exclusive English-dubbed clip has also been released just recently. In a report by Cross Map, the upcoming movie is the first in the 'Dragon Ball' franchise to be shown in 3D.

However, it may only be available in 2D for North America. Japan's release was screened in 2D, 3D, IMAX and even 4DX theaters across the country.

According to ComingSoon.net, anime distributor FUNimation Entertainment released the first clip via IGN in anticipation for its big screen premiere. The movie itself tells the story of the resurrection of the villain Frieza after he was cast down by Goku in Planet Namek and obliterated on Earth.

After he was defeated, Sorbet and Tagoma - the villain's remaining soldiers - collected seven Dragon Balls to revive their superior. In their success, Frieza returns in a more powerful form to seek revenge on the Z-fighters, specifically Goku and Vegeta.

According to Dealine.com, 'Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F' took the number one spot in the Japan debut's opening weekend. It earned $8 million nationwide with a 40% increase from the previous 'Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods' movie in 2013. The article stated that this beat 'Furious 7' to the top of the charts, making it the only country where 'Furious 7' wasn't number one.

'Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F' is the 19th animated film in the 'Dragon Ball' franchise. It is directed by Tadayoshi Yamamuro with screenplay by original creator Akira Toriyama.  The 'Dragon Ball Z' franchise is the sequel to the original 'Dragon Ball' series adapting the final chapters in the comic books. It follows the story of main protagonist Goku who defends the planet Earth from intergalactic invaders together with his group of friends.
