'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' is set to be released in October 10, 2015 in the United States following prior release in Japan on August 7. It is an animated film directed by Hiroyuki Yamashita based on the Japanese comic book series 'Naruto'. Its story revolves around characters introduced in the final chapter of the comic book series, namely Naruto's son Boruto and Sasuke's daughter Sarada, with the addition of other key characters. A newly released teaser trailer hinted at Mitsuki's shocking parents. Other potential spoilers speculate around Sarada as a villain or Boruto's love interest.

The film was first teased in the post-credits of its predecessor 'The Last: Naruto the Movie'. Long before its scheduled release, audiences have been teased with promotional material including potential spoilers enough to amplify anticipation. According to iDigitalTimes, another teaser trailer was released and streamed on the official 'Boruto: Naruto The Movie' website. The short promotional piece hinted at a Boruto-Sarada-Mitsuki team-up. Mitsuki may have an important role in the film as he was the focus of a Naruto Gaiden Manga's early chapters. According to Movie News Guide, the release of 'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' in USA will coincide with the upcoming New York Comic Con to be held in October 8-11, 2015. Tickets have already been made available to fans since June of this year. In the film, Boruto will be training under his father Naruto's rival, Sasuke Uchiha. The latter's daughter, Sarada, is said to a key character in the film - adding to speculations on whether she would be Boruto's love interest or emerge as a villain. According to SaiayanIsland.com, 'Naruto' creator Masashi Kishimoto described Sarada as 'the female version of Sasuke with a bit of darkness, loneliness, a strong heart, and cool temperament.'

'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' is the 11th installment in the animated film series. The first film was released 11 years ago with 'Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow' and continues to entertain fans with its follow-ups along the years. The films are part of a huge franchise that all began with a Japanese comic book (manga) written by Masashi Kishimoto. It was then adapted into a long-running television series (anime) and moved on to big screen animated films. It spawned original video animations, video games, novels, trading card games even supplementary art books.
