Taylor Swift's generous donation of $50,000 via GoFundMe has led the well-known crowdfunding website to raise its fundraising limits.

GoFundMe usually allows donations up to $15,000 but since Taylor Swift donated $50,000 to Naomi, an 11-year-old fan who is suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukemia, the maximum limit was lifted to $50,000.

An entry on Tumblr showed that Naomi, an 11-year-old fan got disappointed for missing a Taylor Swift show in Arizona after a blood test was conducted on her. Naomi's parents saw some bruises on her legs and torso, a day after the test, she was diagnosed of having an Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Naomi's family had created a GoFundMe page to augment medical expenses for her treatment. The page was linked to the Tumblr fan-based post which Taylor had spotted.

The popular singer and songwriter also left a message at Naomi's GoFundMe page. Swift wrote,  "To the beautiful and brave Naomi, I'm sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts. Let's focus on getting you feeling better. I'm sending the biggest hugs to you and your family."

GoFundMe CEO Rob Solomon, explained the lifting of donation limits. "Taylor Swift's donation was so generous that it required us to increase the donation limit on the platform." He said further that Taylor Swift's act of charity can inspire the next generation of giving.

Taylor Swift has been known for her other charitable donations. She once gave $15,000 to a firefighter who saved his wife and son from a car crash in Texas. In 2011, she contributed $250,000 to Alabama football coach Nick Saban's charitable organization to help tornado victims in Alabama. She also sold a signed guitar in a silent auction at a Wounded Warrior Project Benefit Dinner. In 2009, she sang on BBC's Children in Need show and gave £13,000.
