Three big venture firms may team up to provide funding for startups working with Google Glass, the hybrid eyeglasses and smartphone developed by Google.

Venture firms Andreessen Horowitz, Google Ventures, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers are evaluating investment opportunities for startups working on application and hardware designed to work with the glasses.

The three firms may invest collectively or individually, but having three firms as investors means higher changes of success.

Investors found potential in the Google Glass' technology.  The glasses can live-stream images and audio, and it can do computing tasks using a stamp-sized electronic screen mounted on the side of a pair of eyeglass frames. The glasses can also record video, access email, and retrieve information from the Internet.

According to Google, the Google Glass, which started to get noticed last year, will become more widely available this year.
