‘The Affair’ Season 2 Spoilers: Plot sees Noah getting out of jail as Miranda Rae Mayo joins as Cole’s love interest

The critically acclaimed Showtime series "The Affair" is about to enter its second season on October, which will follow the release of Noah from jail and the inclusion of Pretty Little Liars star Miranda Rae Mayo as Joshua Jackson's love interest.

"The Affair" ended its first season with the arrest of Noah (Dominic West) for murdering Scotty (Colin Donnell). But it seems the odds are on his favour as International Business Times reported that he will be released from jail in season 2.

Detective Jeffries, played by Victor Williams, will be required to search for more concrete evidence proving Nick as the perpetrator for Scotty's death  since his were still questionable.

Showrunner Sarah Treem also provided the next season is headed saying, "Season two in the past will pick up very quickly after season one ends. We have more to go in terms of the story before the past catches up to the present."

Treem also told Deadline that on the next season, the writers will be get the perspective of Helen (Maura Tierney) and Cole (Joshua Jackson) to add expand the series' storytelling.

"That will allow us to open the story out, told from four perspectives, and you as the audience are given the opportunity to track what is happening, and you decide the reality. It is so cool," Treem said.

"The Affair" also bulks up in preparation for their sophomore season by adding cast members. Fashion and Style reports that "Pretty Little Liars" star Miranda Rae Mayo will be joining the show as Cole's love interest.  Joanna Gleason is also set to be part of the acclaimed show as Yvonne, an editor-in-chief at a renowned publishing company.

"The Affair" is already gearing up for an exciting second season with new perspectives by Helen and Cole and the arrival of two new characters, which will be played by "Pretty Little Liars" star Miranda Rae Mayo and "The Newsroom" alum, Joanna Gleason.

Showtime's hit series is slated to return this October.
