Bourne 5 News: Alicia Vikander to play female lead role? Frank Marshall reveals casting call starts soon

The fifth instalment of the Bourne franchise, which is currently unofficially called "Bourne 5" is currently in the worksl starring Matt Damon and to be directed by Paul Greengrass. One of the movie's producers, Frank Marshall said that they are to start casting for the movie soon.

The hit Bourne franchise is soon to have its fifth instalment, which is currently being worked on. Matt Damon is set to come back to reprise his role as Jason Bourne, and will also be producing, as well as co-writing the screenplay with Christopher Rouse.

There's not much details available for the film yet, but recent reports suggest that Alicia Vikander, is currently in negotiations to join the cast of Bourne 5. The 'Ex-Machina' actress is reportedly being considered for the female lead role and star opposite Damon.

Aside from Bourne 5, Vikander is also said to be considered for a role in the movie adaptation of the hit video game, Assassins Creed, which is to be directed by Justin Kurzel.

Meanwhile, one of the movie's producers, Frank Marshall revealed in one interview that they are about to start casting for Bourne 5 soon.

In an interview, Marshall was asked about how the pre-production for the film has been going, to which Marshall replied,  "Well, it's very exciting obviously. Working with Paul again and Matt [Damon] and getting the team back together is kind of a dream. We're in pre-production, the script's there, we're going to start casting soon, we're looking at locations, it's all going very well." Marshall also added that they are taking things slowly but surely, with the pre-production of the movie.

Bourne 5 will be produced by Frank Marshall, Paul Greengrass, Jeffery Weiner,  and Captive Entertainment. It was originally scheduled for release on July 14, 2016, but was pushed back only for a couple of weeks, and is now set to be released on July 29, 2016.
