Stana Katic almost gave the "Castle" fans a heart attack when news about her leaving the show surfaced. However, Stana Katic confirmed her reappearance in the series, which seventh season ended with a lot of cliffhangers concerning Kate's career. While her character may be the next captain of the precinct, there are other speculations that season 8 will be Stana's last season.

"Castle" season 8 will have to answer a lot of questions since the season 7 finale post left fans wondering about the characters fate especially Stana Katic's Kate Beckett. Is she going to become a politician? Become the new captain of 12th precinct? Become a mother?

With the shocking detachment of Penny Johnson Jerald from ABC's crime drama, fans are assuming that Kate will be filling the captain position. The said drastic change in the show was caused by the new showrunners, Terence Paul and Alexi Hawley.

Since the departure of Jerald from the show, fans have been worried that other series regulars will also leave it sooner than later. Fashion & Style posts questions about "Castle season 8" including Stana Katic finally bidding farewell to the show for real after assuming the captain position on the show's newest season. After all, Katic did not sign her contract immediately and even hinted her Kate Beckett's fate in the series via TVLine.

"If the character is complete, if there is nowhere else to go creatively, then I think it's better to stop when you're on top," said Katic. "Tell a great story and then go home and move onto something else. Don't milk it "just because.""

Whether or not Stana Katic will leave after "Castle" season 8 is not yet confirmed. But ABC is definitely giving the show a facelift with Penny Johnson Jerald's sudden exit from the show.

Fans will have to watch out for the answers to their questions when "Castle" season 8 premieres on ABC, September 21.
