'NCIS' Season 13 Spoilers: Agent Gibbs Dies In Premiere Episode? Mark Harmon Says Each Cast Member Is 'Replaceable'

"NCIS" season 13 spoilers revealed that the CBS series might lose an important cast member. The season 12 finale ended with a major cliffhanger showing Luke shooting Agent Gibbs in the chest and the leg leaving fans to wonder if he was able to survive.

According to "NCIS" season 13 spoilers from Christian Today, fans of the police procedural series would not have to wait long before they find out what happened to Agent Gibbs. It was said that episode 1 will take place moments after the finale revealing the cast member's fate.

In a recent interview with "The Late Late Show With James Corden," Mark Harmon (Agent Gibbs) was asked about the probability of his character surviving. The actor, however, remained tight-lipped, refused to reveal any spoilers and instead held that everyone in "NCIS" could be replaced.

"The truth births, characters leaving. It always has, and I always think there's always been a creative footprint on the show. I think it keeps actors healthy," he said.   

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, "NCIS" executive producer Gary Glasberg revealed that even the writers themselves are unsure of what will happen come season 13. He, however, held that everyone is affected on what happened to Agent Gibbs in the season finale.

"Regardless of the outcome, any time that Gibbs or one of our family members is in danger or injured, it significantly affects everyone," he said.

"We'll have to see the long-term effects and the psychological effects, but they'll undoubtedly, as they always are, be there for each other. Then we'll see where it takes [us] as we move forward to the coming episode." 

Glasberg went on in saying that Gibbs will play a pivotal role in season 13 as the showrunners wanted to explore a unique storyline. He held that the the producers wanted to give viewers a different take on when women and children are the ones who are "not to be trusted."
