Brazilian foreign language schools are showing a strong presence in the market, with takeovers and acquisitions led by Abril Educacao SA indicating it has become a fast growing market. This growth is buoyed by the demand for English speaking workers in the country's economic, energy and financial sectors.

This also is one market that politicians have stepped aside for, after many previous debacles when politicians intervened causing deals to dry up resulting in lowered revenue and growth. Because this is in the field of education, Brazilian President Dilma Rouseff has vowed to boost coverage and quality for this sector and assured that interference would be minimal at best.

The demand is not just coming from its growing industrial sector. The tourism market is also booming thus requiring multi language skills in a country where less than 5% can speak a second language. Also, the pending hosting duties for the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016 would also spike the demand for Brazilians that are able to speak and understand foreign languages.
