George R.R. Martin has been working on "The Winds of Winter" for more than 3 years and fans are eager to know when it will be released. The famous author is determined to finish the book by 2016 and he has been cancelling several events, interviews and work in order to devote his time to write on the highly anticipated book.

Few months ago, George R.R. Martin cancelled some of his events and interviews according to a report by Express. The famous author is dead set in finishing the highly anticipated "The Winds of Winter" even to the point of deciding not to write for HBO's Game of Thrones. Fans would recall that he was able to help in the writing the script for Season 4 of the hit TV Show.

However he now declines to take part in writing in order to have more time for "The Winds of Winter." In addition thereto, he has no plans of writing for the show's 6th season. "The Winds of Winter" is George R.R. Martin's priority for now.

In line with this, it is expected that there will be a lot of differences between Winds of Winter and the 5thSeason of Game of Thrones. An example is the story of Sansa Stark in which the TV series shows Stark being raped by Ramsay but in the novel, Jeyne Poole, who is a good friend of Stark, was the rape victim.

According to a recent Vulture report, George R.R. Martin shared the characters from his novels which he wanted to see from the show. We have Strong Belwas, Jeyne Poole, Garlan and Willas Tyrell and Lady Stoneheart. However, he is aware that not all of his characters can be seen in the show for practicality reasons.

With all the efforts that George R.R. Martin puts into the Winds of Winter, fans expect nothing less from the author. As for the Game for Thrones' team, this is their opportunity to create and bend the stories based on their taste and preference.
