High School Musical fans got excited when a website reported that there have been plans about making another instalment of the hit movie series. Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale who played Troy and Sharpay respectively, expressed their interest in pursuing the said idea.

A website report stated on April last year that the fourth instalment of High School Musical will soon be filmed. It was reportedly called High School Musical: The Wedding. As the title suggests, the report said Troy, played by Zac Efron, and Gabriella, played by Vanessa Anne Hudgens, are going to get married in the said movie. The said report also promised that the movie will include lots of singing, dancing, and that there might possibly be a big production number during the wedding reception. Although this High School Musical reunion seems to be both very interesting and exciting an idea, it unfortunately is just a part of an April Fools joke. At the end of the said report, it said "*April Fools! The above story is just a fun fabrication ... hope you had a good laugh with us."

But even though the High School Musical reunion news was a hoax, cast members of the movie, Ashley Tisdale and Zack Efron expressed their interest in the idea.

Zac Efron, who played the lead role, Troy also opened up about being interested in making a reunion for HSM. The actor reportedly said that the cast are all thinking about it. "It's so cool because we never forget a single moment of that experience,"  he reportedly added.

But its not only Efron who seems excited about the idea of a HSM reunion. Ashley Tisdale also expressed her interest in the idea.

Ashley Tisdale reportedly said during an interview, that the members of the HSM cast has been seeing each other, so they could catch up on each other's lives. "We're all trying to have our own personal reunion just to see each other. As for a reunion, I have no idea.", the 29 year-old actress said. But she also added that a 25-year reunion sounds like a very interesting idea to her. "That would be kind of crazy and also hilarious.", Tisdale added.

Although the fans and the cast are talking about being interested in making a High School Musical reunion movie, there has still been no formal plans and talks about pursuing it.
