Juniper Network is reviewing its current business focus of enterprise networking businesses after discussions failed to materialize as to the sale of its assets. Among the assets sought divested was NetScreen Technologies.

Thus, the world's second largest network infrastructure builder is rethinking its future, such as opting for acquisitions to enhance its security and enterprise business. Included in this plan is either a sale or spin-off of acquired assets or currently held ones. Should acquisition be the chosen mode, then cash can be raised through sale of equity. These were confirmed by sources requesting anonymity but were familiar with the goings-on in the company.

Juniper initiated talks with competitors to determine the viability of the asset sale of infrastructure that handled networking needs of enterprise clients. This came at a time that EMC Corp, a storage provider, was also discussing the possibility of purchasing Juniper. All these though fell through for one reason or another.
