Having received puns lately on the announcement of the new sequel of "Aliens," director Neil Blomkamp had laid out plans on how to successfully bring back the franchise and how to make it stand on its own. And while the project hasn't still progressed, Blomkamp also revealed that there is already a proper title for the film with Sigourney Weaver to lead again.

Since the outbreak of the news that the science fiction action horror film "Aliens" will be having a new installment in the name of a yet untitled project, fans have been delighted, and while it seems really happening, there have been a lot of criticism suggesting that the new sequel would not work out.

If critics are dubious with the would-be outcome of the "Aliens 5," Neil Blomkamp already told in the recent months that he is taking all necessary steps to guarantee his "Aliens 5" would not share an identity with "Prometheus 2." Going back, the first installment of "Prometheus" in 2012 has been thought to be the prequel to the 1979 sci-fi thriller "Aliens." To amend that, Blomkamp revealed that he had to make a few adjustments to have his film out of way of "Prometheus."

Blomkamp has also told in the past few months that he is taking the upcoming sequel back to its original roots. He had also stated that the plot would take place immediately after the events of the James Cameron-directed "Aliens" film in 1986. In point of fact, he had expressed that his main focus in this new installment is the first two films: 1979's "Alien" and 1986's "Aliens."

On the other hand, if the new film's central focus would be the first two films, then what would happen to 1992's "Alien 3" and 1997's "Alien: Resurrection"? Would Blomkamp override them? Well, fans do not need to worry as he has an explanation for this. "I'm not trying to undo  or Alien Resurrection...My favorites are the first two movies. I want to make a film that's connected to Alien and Aliens. That's my goal," he told French site AlloCine.

Since both fans and critics are expecting a novelty in the new sequel, there have a discussion about the amount of violence to be showcased in this movie. Day Herald reports that since this will be a horror movie, blood and gore is to be expected. And according to the observation of fans, this aspect was pushed to the limits. They considered it unoriginal and is a desperate move on the part of the producers. So, will be the new film gorier? Blomkamp should list this on.

It was also reported that Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and Dwayne Hicks (Michael Biehn) will be returning for this latest venture. But following Blomkamp's announcement, Sigourney herself confirmed that she will be reprising her role. And to make it exciting, she was rumored to appear as a cross-breed human-alien in this new film.

Moreover, while "Aliens 5" hasn't made an obvious progress in quite a month, Blomkamp also told in an interview with Empire Magazine that the project has a title already. "I sent what I wanted as the title to [Scott Ridley]. It's kinda quite bold, and he was like, 'I really like that.' So I'm gonna test it, I don't think it's gonna work, though. I have my own idea but it gives away too much if I say the title. But in the event that it doesn't work, I'm dead in the water," the director teased.

So, when can fans expect the new sequel? Rumor has it that it's coming out a year after "Prometheus 2" is released. And that would be years from now as the Ridley Scott-directed film has just finished its script and will still shoot for God knows when.

For now, let's stay glued to the possible updates to come in the next few months. And for that, are you excited for this new installment of "Aliens"? Are you dreading for what's going to happen in the plot? Share us what you think on the comments section!
