Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come out between September-October 2015. For the Galaxy S7, the release date is hazy, and might be postponed on or before April 2016. In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Note 5 would be almost similar to the S6, but will have 2160 x 3840 Super AMOLED display, metal body bonded to a glass rear, and many more. With the Galaxy S7, specs would include a foldable design, 5.5-inch AMOLED display, and others.

There were speculations that Apple might postpone the release of its flagship smartphone, the iPhone 7, until 2016, which was considered to be a "strong possibility." Once this happens, Samsung is expected to follow as well, implying that there would be delays about the release of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S7.

The timing of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S7 releases were said to be "extremely significant" for Samsung, as Apple was seen to be having successful sales in Asian market. It was expected that the Galaxy Note 5 will "repeat and exceed the quality of the Galaxy Note 4," and is going to be rolled out around October 2015. There is also a possibility that the device might be released "forward slightly in order to get its product to market before the release of the predicted iPhone 6s Plus."

There are other reports also saying the Galaxy Note 5 might be released as early as September 2 or 3, near the date of the IFA. In terms of the specifications, the device might come out in two versions: a 5.89-inch Galaxy Note 5 and a 5.78-inch Galaxy Note 5 with dual edge. Both devices are said to have Ultra HD 2160 x 3840 Super AMOLED displays, 762 ppi for the 5.78-inch version, and 748 ppi for the 5.89-inch.

Further, the Galaxy Note 5 will likely have "a metal body bonded to a glass rear," much like the Galaxy S6, or would also retain a similar design to the Note 4. Moreover, Samsung might remove the memory card slot, sport the Note 5 with a chip akin to the S6, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, and a stylus. The cost is expected to be around £650 for the Note 5 and £800 for the Note 5 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S7

It was said that the release date of the Galaxy S7 is hazy because Samsung reportedly wants to predate Apple's iPhone devices, and Apple could possibly introduce the iPhone 7 in April 2016, with the iPhone 6s set for release this year. Hence, others find it "not inconceivable that Samsung will put forward the release date of the Galaxy S7 in order to ensure that it predates the iPhone."

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S7 might have foldable design, 5.5-inch AMOLED display, improved battery life, 30 MP rear camera, 7 MP or 10 MP front camera, latest Snapdragon processor, and a built-in LTE modem. The price is still under speculations, but it is expected to sell with a "very high price."
