As early as now, Star Wars Battlefront is facing a lot of controversies.

It's still a long way to its 17 November North American release on Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC (November 20 in UK). But game developer EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) is doing its best to defend the development of the series' third main entry for the Star Wars Battlefront.

A DLC for the game is already slated to be released on 8 December, with a 1 December pre-order release.

Various fans have gone to online boards to air their concerns (or accusations) ranging from devs holding content so these could be put into paid DLC's in the future, to loss of battle spaces or maps.

Later on, it was confirmed that one of the of DICE's team members, assistant producer Jesper Nielsen, addressed the concerns raised under the username DICE_TheBikingViking.

"I cannot stress this enough; there will be more than 8 maps!" he said regarding the lack of game space.

"Also, the amount of content in the game has absolutely zero to do with DLC. I can say that with all honesty," he added, addressing the concerns on that Star Wars Battlefront developers are holding back game content.

Nielsen's responses were still met with distrust by some on the forum, so he ended by saying, "No, I'm not telling you to trust us! That's entirely up to you. I can repeat: I only have my words right now, and I don't expect anyone to just trust what I say."

Meanwhile, DICE Senior Producer Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir mentioned in an interview some details from the game, which therefore makes it official.

"We are rebooting Battlefront and making it our own. It's important to us that people feel like we are bringing them a fresh experience," he said.

"We are bringing in a lot of the vehicles that are sort of core to the fantasy from the original Star Wars trilogy. We are bringing you to Endor, Tatooine, and Hoth, which fans know and love. But we are not only giving you the environments that you see in the movies; we are also expanding on those planets, showing you sides of the planets that you haven't previously seen," he added.

"We are giving you the ability to play as many Star Wars heroes and villains, like Darth Vader, Boba Fett... and then we have more characters that we haven't announced yet," said the poducer.

Star Wars Battlefront is an action game played from either a first-person or third-person view. Players, controlling either a Rebel Alliance member or a Stormtrooper, traverse various planets from the franchise, such as Endor, Hoth, Tatooine and Sullust. To navigate both air and land-based vehicles are used.

The Star Wars Battlefront game's weapons, characters, gears and abilities are customizable, and could be shared with teammates. The game lets players choose to control either a Rebel Alliance soldier or a Stormtrooper. The game includes cooperative missions which can be played offline and an online multiplayer mode that supports up to 40 players in one match.
