Capcom's Street Fighter 5 is something nobody is expecting.

With a tentative spring 2016 release exclusively on PS4 and PC platforms (the game is a jo, such a statement adds more anticipation to the arrival of the successor to the successful Street Fighter 4 game.

"With Street Fighter 5, we have a fantastic opportunity to create something with a larger scope. A game that encompasses all that Street Fighter has become in the last few years, but which also expands on that to become something it has never been before as well," said series producer Yoshinori Ono in an interview

"So now we want to create something that nobody is expecting. It's going to be a title that caters to fans, of course, but one that also invites completely new players onto the scene. Street Fighter IV was about reviving a passion. Street Fighter V is about growing that passion," he added.

The upcoming 2D fighting game was officially revealed about four months ago at the 2014 Playstation Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada, a day after a YouTube video leaked it unofficially.

So far, only four characters were confirmed to be part of the roster: Ryu, Chun Li, Charlie Nash, and M. Bison. Any other so-called leaked roster at this point have all been confirmed to be fakes.

That being said, apparently a lot of fans are waiting for confirmation on Ken's inclusion on the roster.

For those who will order pre-order the game (date still to be determined) in North America, Capcom will allow them to be part of the beta testing program for Street Fighter 5. The exact guidelines and date will be updated on the game's official website here.

The said beta program for Street Fighter 5 was needed to ensure smooth cross-platform play functionality and connectivity between PS4 and PC users.
