Fans have been eagerly waiting for Underworld 5 but it seems like they will have to wait a little bit longer. Not much is known about the fifth installment of the series, it doesn't even have a title yet. There are even contradicting reports on the cast but expect the movie to be shown sometime in 2016.

Underworld is a story about Selene,a beautiful vampire warrior played by Kate Beckinsale, who falls in love with a human named Michael. The werewolves are after Michael for some reason and a war breaks out between vampires and werewolves.Working around that plot, we are now about to get the fifth segment of the series.

A new Underwold movie is in the works and the plan was to reboot the franchise with many people assuming that that meant we will most likely see Selene, role played by Beckinsale, recast. That is not the case at all. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it won't be so much of a reboot but an expansion of the universe of two new as yet cast female characters.

It won't be all new faces as Theo James will be back to reprise his role as the vampire David. It is unclear if the film will focus on David's character after the events of Underworld 4 or if it will act as more of an origin story for him. His star power has risen significantly thanks to his lead role in the blockbuster hit Divergent. Unfortunately, Kate Beckinsale might not be part of the fifth installment of the movie.

No release date has been set yet for Underworld 5 but we do know that Divergent: Allegiant star Theo James will be in it and Kate Beckinsale is probably out. Production is expected to begin in the spring so a 2016 release seems likely.
