Android 5.1 update for HTC One M8 GPE was released. The update will bring various improvements such as HD Voice support, better interface, and many more. Meanwhile, Sony has also released Android 5.0 update for a wide range of Xperia devices, even Xperia Z. Below are steps on how to get the update.

Google has reportedly released the Android 5.1 update for HTC One M8 Google Play Edition owners. The update for the device is about 250 MB, which will also fix issues and bugs, receive better animation, and new user interface features.

The update is available by now for the HTC One M8 GPE over-the-air, and users can check their devices from time to time for system update settings to see if they can download the latest Android 5.1 update. The update will bring HD Voice support, better interface when switching from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi connection, anti-theft protection, and many more.

Meanwhile, recent reports said that Sony had announced last week that the Android 5.0 update for Sony Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1 Compact, and Xperia Z Ultra will begin this week. The update was reportedly announced on Twitter. Sony has also revealed their plan to release the newest Lollipop version for Xperia T2 and Xperia C3.

Sony reportedly clarified that the update will be released beginning with Xperia Z3 Dual, Z1, Z1 Compact, and Z Ultra. After that, Xperia T2 Ultra, then C3, lastly the Z series will follow. Compared with other OEM and handset makers, Sony has extended the Lollipop update to other Xperia devices, as well as few older devices from previous generation. Some considered it to be a welcome gesture from the Japanese company.

The latest Android 5.0 will be released in phases, which some might not have the update right away. Though notifications will be sent to alert users that their device is ready for the system update, others could still check for it manually under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.

Since the update is up to 800 MB, Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra owners are advised to download it using a Wi-Fi connection to avoid unwanted data charges.
