The post-apocalyptic open-world game, Mad Max, is confirmed by game developer Avalanche Studios for solid release date September 1 in North America alongside the worldwide launch of Hideo Kojima's 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' and September 4 in the UK.

'Mad Max' will be heading to current gen consoles,  PS4, Xbox One, and PC hardware while the Xbox 360 and PS 3 versions of the game are canned, Game Informer reported.

First revealed at E3 in 2013, 'Mad Max' was anticipated get a release date a year after, however, it was pushed back to 2015.

As noted by Game Informer, 'Mad Max' will arrive alongisde 'Metal Gear Solid V' first of September this year and it's a long delay in comparison to the game's initial plans to arrive in 2014. However, with the vast open roads of Australia on the horizon and a solid release date, players can't hold the excitement either.

The direct competition with 'Metal Gear Solid V' l indeed poses an uphill battle for the game developer, but if this strategy is well-played and worked out well, it could just be what Avalanche Studios needs to get the exposure for its title.
