'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is still over a year away, but us movie fans (Yes, I am included) just cannot wait for it that we watch out for every detail about this monumental superhero film.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jason Momoa, who was cast as the Atlantean king in the upcoming superhero flick, revealed how the Aquaman that is going to be portrayed in BvS:DoJ will be different from how he has been generally seen all this time:

"The whole mythology of Aquaman is pretty amazing. There's so many things to tell, and there's a whole backstory that's just amazing. There's a lot of surprises coming. I think, yeah, he's been cast aside. But, um [laughs] times are going to change now, buddy."

Of course, anybody who reads DC comics knows how Aquaman has always been the 'laughable' character out of all the Justice League members. Even when pitted against Batman, who has no superpowers whatsover, comic book fans would agree that Aquaman would get stomped by the Batman as he already knows the former's weakness - lack of water.

Even his appearance and costume did not help - imagine a guy in an orange, scaly shirt with green spandex pants, holding a trident while riding a dolphin - it would really be difficult for him to be taken seriously. Good thing though, is that a recent tweet by the film's director Zack Snyder revealing Momoa in the Aquaman character would change that:

The stunning and fierce image of Aquaman holding the trident was coupled with the words: "There is only one true King. #unitetheseven"

As for his role, Momoa implied in the same interview that he may have very small role as the movie is about Batman and Superman. He stated:

"Well, it's Batman and Superman, it's not my movie. It's the first time in history to have them both on the screen together, and I'm just excited to see those two up there."

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
