Nickelodeon's most commendable animation franchise "Legend of Korra" which was launched last 2012 had its final season last year. With its story quality, revolving around Korra, the reincarnation of Aang from "The Last Airbender" and her journey to fighting injustice and delivering balance to the world, it's no surprise that critics and audience of different age brackets have come to love this series. Korra creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino ended the series bold and strong by revealing a romantic relationship between  Korra and Arasmi, which is a historic event, considering that the series aired through Nickelodeon.

"We did it for all our queer friends, family and colleagues. It is long overdue that our media (including children's media) stops treating non-heterosexual people as nonexistent, or as something merely to be mocked. I'm only sorry it took us so long to have this kind of representation in one of our stories." says the statement from the creators. Despite the controversial ending, viewers and fans loved it and are demanding to see more.

Fans petition for "Legend of Korra" Spin-Off, No News For Movie Production

It's no doubt that people loved the series so much because reports say that there is an ongoing petition through Change.org to do a spin-off of the series through Netflix. The petition is strong with 17,024 supporters as of February 20 and only 7,976 signatures left before the request is to be addressed. The petition took place due to Netflix's move to buy the rights of the "Legend of Zelda" for it to be available through their medium. This raised the hopes of the Korra fans as there's still a chance for them to see Korra in action again.

Many animation series has been adapted into a live-action movie such as the "Avatar : The Last Airbender". So why not do a "Legend of Korra" movie? Bets have been going through the internet on who can best play the characters in the story. But as to this date, there's still no news on whether the creators will make a spin-off or a movie. But with the fans' eagerness, perhaps we'll see an update soon.
