Kristen Stewart wants in on Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), stating she could be on board if it's "the right thing," Meanwhile, Marvel producer Dan Buckley maintains that MCU and Comic Book Universe do not necessarily have to "align."

Former "Twilight" star Stewart is ready to step up her game, and it seems she is eyeing Marvel movies to do it. In an interview, Stewart expressed an interest in wanting to be a part of the Cinematic Universe.

The actor, who recently starred in "Still Alice" alongside Julianne Moore, said she "could get on board with 'Captain America'." "It would just have to be the right thing," Stewart says.

Before her, actor Mark Walhberg has apparently expressed an interest as well, adds Screen Rant.

Any addition to the MCU would have to be done in Phase 3, which is going to start off with "Captain America: Civil War." Phase 2 of MCU will be ending with "The Avengers: Age of Ultron." "Ultron" has shown a major divergence from the comic book, which Hollywood Reporter says is worrying fans about how the cinematic changes might affect the comic books and confuse readers.

In response, just recently, Marvel Studios addressed concerns about differing information on Cinematic Universe and Comic Universe. Buckley explained that comic book creators find inspiration from on screen concepts, but they are not looking to "align continuity." Buckley also stated that the two universes do not necessarily have to coincide.

Talking to ICU2, Buckley mentioned, "There's no way that these movies, which are seen by millions of people, are not influencing what we're doing in the books, but we're not looking to align continuity between the two storytelling worlds because, frankly, that would be a venture into madness.

Buckley also talked about the cinematic and the comic book universes getting inspiration from one another. "Both mediums have influence on each other, yes," said Buckley. However, he added, "They will creatively bleed into each other; people are going to steal good ideas from each other. That's always going to happen."

Buckley stated that the two universes are not overriding one another.
