HTC One M9 release date could be in March 2015, and Best Buy is already cutting back on HTC One M8 prices. M9 or "Hima" specs still not confirmed, but it may possibly run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

HTC One M8 is currently being offered at a low price for a two year contract from Best Buy, IB Times shares. Instead of its usual $199.99 price, M8 is currently sold for $29.99, as shared by Android Authority. The "throw-away price" is for the gold, gray, and silver 32GB LTE models of HTC One M8, which costs $749.99 if bought without a contract.

The price reduction on HTC One M8 apparently strengthens the assumption that the new flagship phone, HTC One M9, will be released in the first quarter of next year. "It is reported that HTC's flagship smartphone will be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) to be held from 2 to 5 March," IB Times shares.

According to Android Origin, M9's predecessor was also released around the same time.

However, nothing is confirmed yet. In fact, even the specs to be expected from M9, dubbed "Hima," vary from one source to another. According to IB Times, Twitter handle @upleaks says that M9 will have a 5-inch Full HD Display, 3 GB of RAM, 20.7 MP main camera, 13MP front snapper, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and a 2840mAh battery. It is also reported to have Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

The Twitter user @upleaks "turned out to be a very reliable source in the past," Android Origin claims. Also according to the site, Hima will be offered from all four major carriers, and an "Ultra" version might be seen from AT&T and Verizon, available for US subscribers. No information has been revealed about the difference between Hima's regular and "Ultra" version, though.

Apart from having a supposed "Ultra" version, Android Origin also mentions that there might be a Windows variant of the upcoming HTC phone.

Twitter user @upleaks also hinted at HTC showing  more "not-phone" products in 2015.
