"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" isn't expected for a while- the game's set to release on a number of consoles (PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360), but no one's quite sure when it'll be available on all those many, many platforms.

KpopStarz has the latest update on when we'll be able to play "The Phantom Pain" for ourselves. They're claiming that the game's current and extremely vague release date- "Sometime, 2014"- is still the case, but that the release date is "expected" soon. And that "Metal Gear Solid" pioneer Hideo Kojima is working himself to the bone with the game, if that makes any difference.

KpopStarz ran a quote from Kojima about his take on the latest "Grand Theft Auto" game- and while that might seem like it has nothing to do with "MGS," the latest "GTA" has actually inspired Kojima to bigger and better heights.

"When we say we're an open-world game it makes it sound like it's trying to be the same as what those guys are creating. But this is very different - I'm trying to do a free infiltration game."

"What Rockstar has created and the world they have created is super impressive, and actually when I saw the PS4 version a few days ago I got depressed again," he continued. "And this is not game design-related it's just me. The quality that they showed in the PS4 trailer was really impressive."

According to Kojima himself (in a second piece by KpopStarz), the expected release date of the game is "sometime in 2015," and despite his secret shame about being beaten (at least in his eyes) by "Grand Theft Auto 5," it doesn't look like that release date's changing anytime soon. Especially since he wants to give fans "the best gaming experience," according to KpopStarz.

In anticipation of the game's release, Cinema Blend compared the PC and PS4 graphics on the preview of "Metal Gear Solid 5," known as "Ground Zeroes." Apparently, there's not much difference but the PC version looked just a little better. Food for thought if you've got any interest in purchasing it.
