SM Entertainment's male idol megagroup, EXO is reportedly making a comeback by early next year. Allkpop reported that exclusive news from Korean news site, Sports Donga claimed that the group will not be making a comeback by the end of the year, (as previously speculated), but by the end of January.

This was further supported when SM Entertainment confirmed with Newsen that the group is really gearing up for their much-awaited comeback.

"EXO is preparing for a new album, but time and details haven't been confirmed yet," SM told Newsen. "We're doing our best to create the best album, so please anticipate it."

The news has sparked speculations that this time, EXO will be releasing their second studio album. Their first full-length album, "XOXO," was released in June 2013 while their mini-album, "Overdose," was released just last May.

Soompi noted that fans of the highly successful idol group are looking forward to the group's new dynamics as it would be their first comeback as a group of 10, and without Kris and Luhan who left the group in May and October, respectively.

Kris, now professionally known as Wu Yifan, filed a lawsuit against to terminate his contract with SM Entertainment on May 15. Luhan did the same on October 10.

Observers note that despite recent controversies, EXO's rumored comeback will be a way for them to prove their supremacy and prominence in the K-pop scene.

Meanwhile, the group is reportedly busy with their individual activities and promotions. EXO-M's Xiumin and Lay recently filmed for a Chinese variety show while fellow member Lay had a solos interview with a Chinese magazine.

EXO-K's Chanyeol and EXO-M's Tao were featured in their label mate Zhoumi's solo debut track "Rewind." The two rappers were featured in the rap parts of the song which comes in two versions, Korean and Chinese.

EXO-M's lead vocals, D.O is starring in the movie "Cart" which premiered on November 13. D.O also lent his powerful voice to the movie as he sang "Crying Out" for the film's OST.

Moreover, EXO won as one of the Top 10 artists in the recently concluded "2014 MelOn Music Awards." The group was also confirmed to perform in the upcoming "Mnet Asian Music Awards 2014" (MAMA) in Hong Kong on December.
