B.A.P wins ‘Best Korea Act’ at the 2014 MTV EMA, advances to compete for the prestigious ‘Worldwide Act’ award category

MTV has recently announced that South Korean male idol group B.A.P won the "Best Korea Act" at the 2014 MTV EMA. According to Daily Kpop News, the group bested other notable idol bands including BEAST, CNBLUE, KARA and Bulletproof Boy Scouts (BTS).

The announcement, which was made in October 23, also meant the idol group now has the chance to compete for the "Worldwide Act" award, KpopStars reports.

The upcoming MTV EMA 2014 will be broadcast live in all MTV channels around the world from the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on November 9. The airing of the awarding ceremony is expected to reach 700 million households across the globe.

For B.A.P to advance to the final round of the "Worldwide Act," fans should vote for them at the mtvema.com. Voting for the category started on the on October 23 and will end on the 29th. Ten finalists for the award will be announced on October 30 through the MTV EMA website.

Hello Kpop reports that female rapper-superstar Nicki Minaj will be hosting the event. Other artists that were previously confirmed to perform at the 2014 MTV EMA include Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris, Charli XCX, Kiesza, and Royal Blood.

It was also reported that British rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will be honored in the Glasgow event and will accept the Global Icon Award.

B.A.P was formed in 2011 under the management of TS Entertainment. The hip-hop group debuted in 2012 with members Bang YongGook, Zelo, HimChan, Dae Hyun, Young Jae, and Jong Up. The group released 4th Single a few months ago. The music video for their track "Where Are You? What Are You Doing?" was shot in London and showed the six boys' playful and romantic side.

MTV EMA is one of the most awaited music events of the year, gathering and recognizing artists from different genres from different parts of the world.
